I think someone should keep an email list of all 3446 folders. that way, we can send out a semi-annual newsletter or similar - that way, we can remind people to keep folding that may otherwise never come back.
ideas?

HD-DVD outsold Blu-ray for so long that it still has more titles sold overall.
We'll see what happens.numbers....source....anything?

OJuice (http://www.ojuice.net/) is the authority on all things demo. Check out Nectarine (http://www.scenemusic.net/) for streaming scenemusic from the old legends and the new!
I am really looking forward to Renoise 1.5 final. I hope it takes them less time to release than between the last two releases. Looks really spiffy, though! Now if only it supported Audio Units...
Nectarine is great. I miss the days of the old Hornet Mod Archive. I still have both Archive one and two on cd here though.
Anyhow, VST's are supported under Renoise. Which is great! However, I am having some bug issues on OS X with using VST's. I am sure these will be sorted out in due time. The mac version is coming along nicely.

The GeForce 4 MX is a lot faster than the 2 MX, but it's most definitely NOT going to run Doom 3 smoothly at 1280x1024, and you'll miss out on the pixel shader effects that are required to use full detail.
If you're familiar with Windows versions of nVidia's cards, the GF4 MX in your dual-867 is about as fast and feature-equipped as the GF2 Ultra, though of course that had 64 MB of memory on it (and was much more expensive when new).
The GF4 MX you have is actually pretty unique, since (outside of the 17" widescreen iMac) all GF4 MX models are otherwise 64 MB, including the one that was available before the current PowerMac iteration.
By the time the GF5 come out ATI is supposed to be releasing an update for the ATI9700 or a completely new card.

What I can't understand is why you would actually encode something into RealMedia format. Especially for the Mac, as RealPlayer for Mac has never been that great. I don't even have it installed on my machine, and if a website requires it, I simply don't bother visiting. If I really care, I might send them an E-mail suggesting that they use a better format.
Send an email? Now why would you go and do a silly thing like that? The majority of webites stream video on Real format, not having it available for mac makes the mac even less copmatible with the rest of the planet

What are the odds and possibility of a price drop for the iPods before christmas? I would really like to buy one for myself as well as my gf. If not, i'll just get one for myself.. lol. However, since I can't think of anything at the moment, an iPod would be a great gift (she has over a ton of mp3s).

Came to the thread looking for info on that rumored new 360…
…found a bunch of people fighting over format and consoles preferences.
It's getting more teadious everyday to filter the bickering out to get to the on-topic info.
Back on topic. Cooler 360 and not the original DVD drive = more silent 360? I find my original to be a little bit too noisy as I often play it with low sound volume. I'll be waiting for more official info.
Agreed. :o
Yeah, the current white 360s manufactured in or after Dec'06 have the new BenQ drive which is supposedly a quieter DVD drive.
With [these] new 360s reportedly being cooler (but no evidence whether they switched to 65nm processors or not), I'm sure as a whole - yes, these will certainly be more quiet than what's out now.

"Currently this project supports all but the photo, 4G, U2, and Mini iPods"
In other words, only 1G-3G. But it's still really cool--there are new graphical games you can run and everything--and not lose Apple's own iPod OS either, you get the choice of that or a Linux-based GUI.
I hope they get it working on the latest iPods soon. Color would be too cool!

its too bad i don't work at the local university anymore. I would of so gone and installed folding at home on all the computers in the labs.
This would have helped out a lot i think, especially since we left those things run 24/7.
That would have been nice- the more machines folding, the merrier! :)

I will forward it to you if I have to. PM me. I'm seriously getting annoyed with the lack of trust around here. Why would I make this up?!
No it's fine. I was just commenting that for something "official" it didn't sound very official - but that's probably just the way they send this type of email. Don't get too annoyed at the "lack of trust", there are so many fake things which people post that we all get a bit skeptical.

IMO, FF has only 1 thing on Safari. Long select bars with scrolling. Having to actually wade through a jillion entries in a scroll bar on Safari sucks. Otherwise, FF is too Netscape like.. an interface I cannot stand.
Safari list shortcut: type part of the item (like a state name or whatever). Press Return to select it.
The only browsers that manage to save CSS properly are IE (windows) and Opera.
I believe that Tiger adds the ability to save an entire page with "the works" from Safari. Anyone know how well that feature works with CSS?
